Luis Suarez has reportedly warned his Liverpool teammates that he will be ready for Uruguay's clash with England in Brazil.
Five of Suarez's club teammates are in the England squad, including Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Glen Johnson, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling, while Jon Flanagan is on the standby list.
Henderson confirmed that he has been in contact with Suarez regarding the injury.
"Everybody is obviously disappointed for Luis, people that know him – maybe not us – because he is a big player for Uruguay," Henderson said, according to the ESPN.
"I gave him a text to see if he is doing all right and wished him good luck with whatever he has got to have done.
“He is a fighter and come maybe the first or the second game in the World Cup, I am sure he will be ready and raring to go."
Gerrard spoke out over the weekend, saying that missing the World Cup would be devastating for Suarez, but adding that his absence would help England.
Uruguay will play the Three Lions after taking on Costa Rica and before meeting Italy in Group D.
