Speaking after their 2-0 friendly win over Slovenia the Argentina captain Lionel Messi thinks that his side are improving at the perfect time to challenge for the World Cup.
The Barcelona superstar stated that the Argentine squad was united as they head for Brazil and also admitted that they were excited to get the tournament started despite conceding that it will be a tough ask to go all the way and win the title.
“The World Cup is difficult but anything can happen, but we’re going to fight for the title,” Messi said.
“We gradually started to play better and we won over the fans, who were a little a little distant. We are more united than ever before to accomplish our dream.”
“We must be calm and go bit by bit,” the skipper added.
“I feel very well, we have a very strong group of players. We’re all very excited, now comes the moment of truth. We’re eager to get to Brazil.”
