With FC Barcelona reportedly having a picture of Kylian Mbappe up on their dressing room wall a few weeks ago, why this was the case has now seemingly been revealed.
The Catalan giants hosted Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash earlier this season, a game many dubbed the "Mbappe vs Lionel Messi" match.
Ultimately, the French giants went on to defeat Ronald Koeman's men 4-1 at the Camp Nou, with the France superstar scoring an incredible and memorable hat-trick on the night.
According to French publication L'Equipe, however, Barcelona headed into that match determined to prevent Mbappe from doing what he eventually did by hanging up a picture of the 22-year-old Frenchman in their dressing room.
It has been claimed that Koeman and his coaching staff did this to make it clear to the Blaugrana players Mbappe was their No. 1 enemy ahead of the encounter.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner scored again in the second leg of that round of 16 tie, a 1-1 draw with the Catalan giants, and continued his Champions League form with a brace against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
His two goals have given PSG a great chance of progressing to the semi-finals of the competition, with Mauricio Pochettino's men winning their first leg of the quarter-final tie 3-2 away from home.
