UEFA Champions League
Teams: Chelsea vs FC Barcelona
Date: 20 February 2018
Venue: Stamford Bridge
The Blues and the Catalan giants have already met 12 times in the Champions League, with five of the six double-legged clashes being in the knockout stages.
So far, Barcelona have progressed thrice and Chelsea twice, including in their latest contest in the semi-final in 2012, when the Blues beat the Blaugrana 3-2 on aggregate to progress to the final, where they beat Bayern Munich.
In addition, Chelsea boast a positive home record against the unbeaten LaLiga leaders, having won four games, while drawing one and losing just one.
While Barcelona are bidding to reach the quarter-finals for a record-breaking 11th consecutive year, Chelsea have only progressed from the Last 16 in one of the past five seasons.
All eyes will be on Messi, who has faced the Premier League champions eight times but is yet to score against them. The Argentine also failed to find the back of the net in his past five games for Barcelona, and has only three goals in the Champions League so far this season.
Here’s how the two teams will line up:
Chelsea: Courtois, Rudiger, Alonso, Moses, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Fabregas, Kante, Pedro, Willian, Eden Hazard.
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Sergi Roberto, Piqué, Umtiti, Jordi Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta; Paulinho; Luis Suárez, Messi.
