PSG beat Bayern 3-0 in the reverse fixture – a result that ultimately cost Carlo Ancelotti his job – but the German giants have improved a lot since then under Jupp Heynckes. They have won 10 out of 11 games with Heynckes in charge and climbed back to the top of the Bundesliga.
The French giants, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat of the season against Strasbourg on Saturday, but still hold a comfortable nine-point lead in Ligue 1. They have also won all five of their games in the UEFA Champions League group stage so far, scoring a record-breaking 24 goals and only conceding one.
The two European giants have met seven times so far, with PSG having won five of those contests and Bayern two – both of them at home.
Both teams have already qualified for the knockout stage of the competition, but Bayern could still beat PSG to the top spot in the group if they win by more than three goals tonight.
