African stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane ran rampant as Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
The Reds broke the deadlock after 13 minutes via a counter-attack as Salah netted his 38th goal of the season with a close-range finish.
It got better for Jurgen Klopp's men in the 22nd minute as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doubled the lead with a superb finish from 22 yards out.
Ten minutes later, the Reds bagged a third goal as Salah turned provider to pick out Mane, who powered home a header at the far post.
Pep Guardiola's men were left shocked and had no response to Liverpool's attack in the first half.
Guardiola's charges dominated from the onset in the second half but they found it tough to break down the Liverpool defence.
The Spaniard opted for a change on 58 minutes as former Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling replaced Ilkay Gundogan in search of a goal.
The Reds went close to adding a fourth with 15 minutes remaining when Dominic Solanke set up Mane in the box, but the Senegalese failed to convert from close range.
The home side remained resolute in the final 15 minutes of the half and denied City a clear scoring opportunity.
Klopp's charges will now take a 3-0 lead into the second leg at the Etihad Stadium next week.
