Tottenham Hotspur came back from two goals down to register a 2-2 draw with Juventus in their UEFA Champions League first leg tie.
The Old Lady had a dream start after Gonzalo Higuain opened the scoring in the second minute with a spectacular first-time volley on the edge of the box.
The visitors were unlucky to concede a penalty in the ninth minute after Ben Davies clipped Federico Bernardesci inside the box. Higuain made it 2-0 from the spot-kick.
Higuain could have got his hat-trick in the 25th minute after Spurs were caught on a counter-attack but he seemed to have rushed his move as his low strike fell inches wide of the upright.
Kane reduced the deficit in the 35th minute after a spell of pressure from the English side paid off as he latched onto a pass from Dele Alli before rounding Gianlugi Buffon to slot into an empty net.
Serge Aurier conceded a penalty after his sliding tackle caught Douglas Costa inside the box. Higuain stepped up again but sent his spot-kick against the crossbar.
Mario Mandzukic should have made it 3-1 on the hour-mark with a free-header inside the box but his effort went straight into Lloris’s hands.
Christian Eriksen equalised for Spurs with 20 minutes remaining by hitting a well executed low strike that beat Buffon at the bottom corner, 2-2.
Medhi Benatia almost found the winner for the home side five minutes before time with a free-header inside the box following a corner but he could not find the target.
That proved to be the final chance of the half as Spurs take an advantage in the second leg, having secured two away goals.
