Result: FC Porto 0-2 Chelsea
Date: 07 April 2021
Venue: Estadio Ramon Sanchez
Chelsea took a big advantage in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final with a 2-0 win away to FC Porto on Wednesday evening.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel recalled Andreas Christensen, Ben Chilwell, Jorginho and Mason Mount , while Porto's Pepe joined Ryan Giggs as the oldest player to start a Champions League quarter-final at the age of 38.
The game started out as evenly contested affair, with neither side really creating openings in the opening 20 minutes of the encounter.
The Blues got the breakthrough in the 32nd minute as Mason Mount did well to turn his marker from Jorginho's pass before drilling the ball into the far corner.
Pepe came close to pulling Porto level just before the halftime break, but his header was kept out Blues shot-stopper Edouard Mendy.

Porto came out firing after the break and should have been level shortly after the break when Moussa Marega was played through on goal but the Mali international was unable to beat Mendy.
The Portuguese giants continued pushing for the equaliser and they felt they should have had a penalty on 71 minutes when Marega went down in the box, but the referee waved away the appeals.
However, it was the Blues who got the next goal as Chilwell pounced on Corona's error to round the goalkeeper before slotting into an empty, giving his side a big advantage ahead of the second leg.
