Date: 13 September 2016
Venue: Allianz Arena
Bayern Munich began their UEFA Champions League campaign with an impressive 5-0 win over FC Rostov at the Allianz Arena.
Joshua Kimmich, Rafinha, Arturo Vidal and Douglas Costa returned to the line-up, after being benched against Schalke.
Carlo Ancelotti's charges dominated the opening exchanges, but were restricted to efforts from distance, none of which troubled Dzhanaev.
Bayern were then awarded a penalty after 20 minutes after Robert Lewandowski was fouled in the box. The Polish forward stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, 1-0.
The hosts doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime as Thomas Muller turned home David Alaba's cross with a fine left-footed volley.
Bayern added a third goal after 53 minutes as Douglas Costa played fine ball across the face of goal, where Kimmich was on hand to tap home.
Kimmich bagged his second and Bayern's fourth goal on the hour-mark when he headed home Juan Bernat's cross.
With Bayern comfortably leading, Ancelotti introduced Renato Sanches and Fracnk Ribery for the final 20 minutes.
The Bundesliga champions managed to added a fifth goal in the 90th minute as Ribery teed up Bernat, who slotted home from close range.
