Messi & Mbappe Star For PSG, Salah Helps Liverpool Set New Record

Group A
RB Leipzig 2-1 Manchester City

Manchester City went down 2-1 to RB Leipzig in their final UEFA Champions League Group A clash at the Red Bull Arena on Tuesday.

Leipzig were off to a flying start through Dominik Szoboszlai and made it two after halftime through Andre Silva before Riyad Mahrez gave City a lifeline minutes from the home side’s second.

The Citizens didn’t finish the match with a full complement of players as Kyle Walker saw red after bringing down Silva, as Leipzig managed to hold out the remaining minutes to confirm entry into the UEFA Europa League.

Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 Club Brugge

Paris Saint-Germain crushed Club Brugge 4-1 in the group’s other clash at the Stade des Princes.

The Parisans were up and running within the first ten minutes through Mbappe’s quick fire double before Messi gave the host a third into the halftime break.

Brugge received a glimmer of hope midway through the second half courtesy of Mats Rits, but then Messi won and converted a penalty inside the closing minutes to wrap up the clash.

As Premier League heavyweights Manchester City won the group, the Parisans finished in second spot with Brugge rock bottom and RB Leipzig in third spot.

Group B
AC Milan 1-2 Liverpool

Liverpool set a new English record by making it six out of six in Group B with a 2-1 win over AC Milan.

With their qualification already secured a while back, the Reds were able to give a number of fringe players a chance after playing their fifth game in 15 days.

Fikayo Tomori gave Milan a 29th-minute lead but Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi scored in the 36th and 55th minutes to complete the turnaround.

Liverpool finish well on top while Milan finish and bottom and fail to qualify for the Europa League.

Porto 1-3 Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid qualified for the knockout stages with a 3-0 victory over Porto in an ill-tempered Group B clasha that saw three players sent off.

Antoine Griezmann scored in the 56th minute before Atleti's Yannick Carrasco and Porto's Wendell and Agustin Marchesin were all sent off. Angel Correa and Rodrigo de Paul put the game to bed in stoppage time for Diego Simeone's men. Sergio Oliveira netted a penalty in the sixth minute of stoppage time for Porto but it was far too late.

The Wanda Metropolitano side end with seven points, just two ahead of Porto, who qualify for the Europa League in third.

Group C
Ajax Amsterdam 4-2 Sporting Lisbon

Ajax Amsterdam finish their impressive group campaign with a hundred percent record after a 4-2 victory against Sporting Lisbon.

Sebastian Haller, Antony, David Neres and Steven Berghuis got on the scoresheet for Ajax, while Nuno Santos and Bruno Trabata netted for the Portuguese outfit, who still qualify for the knockout stages by virtue of a superior goal difference compared to Borussia Dortmund, who also finished on nine points.

Borussia Dortmund 5-0 Besiktas

It was a little too late for Borussia Dortmund as they could not qualify for the knockout stages despite a 5-0 thrashing of Besiktas.

Donyell Malen, Marco Reus (2) and Erling Braut Haaland (2) got the goals for the Borussians, who will partake in the Europa League as they finish three points behind second-placed Sporting on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Besiktas end a forgettable campaign with no points, 19 goals conceded and only three scored with six losses from their six matches.

Group D
Real Madrid 2-0 Inter Milan

Real Madrid took top spot in Group D with a 2-0 win over 10-man Inter Milan at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Toni Kroos and Marco Asensio found the back of the net for Los Blancos in the 17th and 79th minutes respectively as Inter had Nicolo Barella sent off in the 64th minute.

Real end at the summit with 15 points and the Nerazzurri in second with ten points.

Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Sheriff

Sheriff snatched a last-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in Group D.

Fernando opened the scoring in the 42nd minute for the Ukrainians, but Boban Nikolov's strike in the third minute of stoppage time claimed a share of the spoils for the Moldovan minnows.

Sheriff will take their place in their first ever Europa League, while Shakhtar finish a dreadful campaign with two points.
