UEFA Champions League Last 16 Second Leg: Monaco V Arsenal, 17 March 2015
Teams: Monaco V Arsenal
Venue: Stade Louis II
Arsene Wenger’s team will be hoping for a miracle when they travel to the French manager’s former side, Monaco, in hopes of turning the 3-1 deficit around.
The game is scheduled for 9:45pm.
Monaco, who stunned Arsenal’s home fans in the first leg as they scored three away goals, will be without Tiemoue Bakayoko, Andrea Raggi and Lacina Traore as they’re all out with respective injuries.
There will be more concerns for manager Leonardo Jardim, as Jeremy Toulalan, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco are all not 100%, but the importance of the clash may see them feature.
The French side have won their last three matches in the Champions League, and with the away-goal ruling, Arsenal will have to win by three goals from the start.
Another boastful statistic, is that Monaco have only conceded one goal in their last 12 home games.
Arsenal head in to the tie in deep trouble, with an uphill battle at their feet.
Mathieu Debuchy, Abou Diaby, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta will all miss the fixture due to injury, while there’s doubts over the fitness of Jack Wilshere, Gabriel and Tomas Rosicky.
Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez will be key for the Gunners, if they’re to achieve this tough feat.
Here is how the two teams will line-up:
Monaco: Subasic, Fabinho, Wallace, Abdennour, Kurzawa, Toulalan, Moutinho, Kondogbia, Dirar, Martial, Berbatov
Arsenal: Ospina, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Welbeck, Ozil, Alexis, Giroud
