UEFA Champions League
Result: Juventus 2-1 Dortmund
Date: 24 February 2-15
Venue: Juventus Stadium
Juventus secured a 2-1 win in their opening last-16 tie against Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Carlos Tevez was the man who broke the deadlock in the 13th minute to give the home team the lead. Morata sped down the left flank in a counter attack and crossed for Weidenfeller to play on for Tevez to finish from close range.
However, Dortmund were back on level terms only five minutes later as Marco Reus found the back of the net. A comical slip from Chiellini gave Reus the opportunity to pounce on the loose ball and beat Gianluigi Buffon one-on-one.
The Old Lady was back in the lead in the 42nd minute as Morata put them in front. Paul Pogba marauded down the left flank and squared into the six-yard box where Morata poked it home.
In the 55th minute Dortmund had a good shooting opportunity through Immobile after Aubameyang drew two defenders to make space, but the shot was straight down Buffon's throat.
Juventus came close to going 3-1 ahead in the last five minutes. Morata spun to play in Pereyra in behind his marker but the shot was inches wide of the target.
