Bayer Leverkusen 4-1 BATE Borisov
Bayer Leverkusen got the Champions League campaign off to a flying start with a 4-1 thrashing of Bate Borisov at the BayArena.
Admir Mehmedi handed Leverkusen the lead after four minutes, before Nemanja Milunovic leveled matters in the 13th minute for the visitors.
However, a second half brace from Hakan Calhanoglu and Javier Hernandez's first Leverkusen goal ensured the Germans walk awat with three points.
Valencia 2-3 Zenit St. Petersburg
Zenit St. Petersburg held off a late surge from Valencia to secure a 3-2 win at the Mestalla on Wednesday evening.
Brazilian forward, Hulk, handed Zenit a two-goal lead with strikes in the ninth and a spectacular goal in the 44th minute.
Valencia managed to draw level in the second half via an Axel Witsel own goal and a strike from Andre Gomes, However Witsel redeemed himself in the 76th minute by scorng the winner for Zenit.
Dynamo Kiev 2-2 FC Porto
Cameroon forward, Vincent Aboubaker, bagged a brace to help FC Porto secure a 2-2 draw with Dynamo Kiev.
Oleg Gusev opened the scoring for Kiev in the 20th minute, before Aboubaker leveled matters three minutes later.
Aboubaker then grabbed his second in the 81st minute, however Vitaly Buyalsky popped up in the 89th minute to earn a point for Kiev.
Gent 1-1 Olympique Lyonnais
Olympique Lyonnais marked their return to the Champions League with a 1-1 draw against Belgian side, Gent.
Christophe Jallet handed Lyon the lead in the 58th minute, before Danijel Milicevic slotted home in the 68th minute to clinch a point for the Belgians.
