UEFA have announced the nominees for the Champions League awards, including Forward of the Year but neither Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo made the cut.

So, it’s no surprise that the Blues have dominated the men’s awards, which are broken up into four categories.

The Blues have five nominees across all the categories, while the Citizens boast three nominees.

There was no place for Messi who racked up five goals in six matches while Ronaldo registered four goals and two assists in six encuonters.

The awards will be announced at the Champions League group stage draw in Istanbul on Thursday, 26 August.
