City Snatch Two Away Goals In France

UEFA Champions League

Result: Paris Saint-Germain 2-2 Manchester City

Date: 06 April 2016

Venue: Parc des Princes

Manchester City grabbed two vital away goals, as they drew 2-2 with Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League quarterfinal tie on Wednesday evening.

PSG were presented with a chance to open the scoring in the 13th minute, when David Luiz was brought down by Bacary Sagna in the box. However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic stepped up and saw his spot-kick saved by Joe Hart.

City had their first opening in the 20th minute, as Kevin De Bruyne did well to pick out David Silva, who headed just wide of the upright.

Zlatan squandered another glorious chance to hand PSG the lead in the 24th minute. The Swede was played through on goal with only Hart to beat, however he somehow placed his strike wide of the target.

City eventually went ahead in the 37th minute, as De Bruyne collected a pass from Fernandinho, before calmly firing into the far corner from close range.

PSG hit back in the 41st minute when Fernando's attempted clearance was closed down by Ibrahimovic, which saw the ball sail into an empty.

The Ligue 1 champions then took the lead in the 58th minute courtesy of a simple tap-in from Adrien Rabiot at the far post, after Hart had brilliantly saved Cavani's header.

City managed to find an equaliser in the 72nd minute through Fernandinho, as the Brazilian profited from a poor clearance from Serge Aurier to fire home a deflected effort from 12-yards out, 2-2.

Neither side really threatened in the final 15 minutes, with City quite content with the two away goals heading into the second leg at the Etihad.
