UEFA Champions League
Result: FC Barcelona 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen
Date: 29 September 2015
Venue: Camp Nou
FC Barcelona came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen in their UEFA Champions League encounter at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night.
The Spanish outfit were presented with an opening after just six minutes when Neymar picked out Ivan Rakitc, who directed his header wide of the mark.
Leverkusen had a chance of their own in the 12th minute when Karim Bellarabi did well to turn Gerard Pique, before firing horribly over from close range.
However, it was the German side who broke the deadlock in 22nd minute when an un-marked Kyriakos Papadopoulos headed home Calhanoglu's in-swinging corner.
Papadopoulos then proved his worth at the other end in the 40th minute, as the defender managed to clear Sandro's effort off the line, after Luis Suarez's strike had crashed against the woodwork.
Leverkusen squandered a glorious chance to double their lead shortly after the halftime break but Javier Hernandez failed to hit the target from six-yards out.
Barcelona were then dealt a blow in the 60th minute when Andres Iniesta picked up an injury and had to be replaced.
The hosts continued to search for an equaliser and they went close in the 65th minute when Neymar curled an effort just wide of the mark.
Barcelona eventually leveled matters in the 81st minute when substitute Sergi Roberto tapped home from close range, after Saurez's effort had been saved Leno.
The comeback was complete three minutes later as Munir did well to skip past a defender, before teeing up Luiz, who curled home a wonderful effort from the edge of the box.
