Second-half goals from Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil hand Arsenal a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger started with Petr Cech in goals, after he was benched against Olympiakos, while Theo Walcott continued to lead the line.
The Gunners got off to an encouraging start and were nearly ahead after just seven minutes but Mesut Ozil's low effort from the edge of the area forced Manuel Neuer into a superb save.
Bayern had a chance of their own in the 11th minute, as Thiago Alcantara played a neat one-two with Thomas Muller, before forcing Petr Cech into a good stop.
Pep Guardiola's men continued to dominate the possession but were left frustrated by Cech once again in the 28th minute, as he did well to keep out Arturo Vidal's volley.
The home side the squandered a good chance two minutes later when Alexis Sanchez blazed an effort over the crossbar from 12-yards out.
Theo Walcott nearly handed the Gunners the lead in the 33rd minute but Neuer pulled off a world class save to keep out the striker's header from point-blank range.
Bayern continued to dominate in the second half, as they did in the first and they nearly broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Douglas Costa forced Cech into a finger-tip save.
The in-form Robert Lewandowski squandered a chance to hand Bayern the lead in the 74th minute, as the striker collected past from Costa inside the box, however he failed to beat the on-rushing Cech.
However, it was Arsenal who broke the deadlock a minute later when Neuer failed to clear a set-piece, which allowed Olivier Giroud to bundle the ball home into an empty net.
Giroud nearly got his and Arsenal's second in the 83rd minute as he rose well to meet Ozil's corner, however he directed his header straight at Neuer.
However, Wenger's men eventually sealed the win in stoppage time when Mesut Ozil's side-footed finish was adjudge to have crossed the line by the officials.
