For the second year running now we get to see Manchester City meet Barcelona in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
The last time these two sides met we saw the Spanish giants come away with a 4-1 aggregate win over the two legs.
This is only Manchester City’s second appearance in the round of 16, for Barcelona this is their 11th in a row, winning eight and losing two.
Last season when the two met Barcelona walked away 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Lionel Messi and Dani Alves. The return leg didn’t end up much better for City as they lost 2-1 in the second leg.
City reached the last 16 after a very impressive escape act, as they only took two points from their first four fixtures but then beat Bayern Munich and AS Roma to snatch second place.
The Citizens last-gasp 3-2 comeback victory over Bayern on matchday five was just their third win in their last ten European home fixtures.
The Catalan giants are targeting their eighth successive quarter-final appearance and have only lost only one game so far in Europe this season.
Barcelona's record away to English opposition is currently sitting on seven win, eight draws and 14 losses, while City home record against Spanish opposition is two wins, two draws and one loss.
Here is how they line up:
Manchester City: Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy; Fernando, Milner, Nasri, Silva; Dzeko, Aguero
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Alves, Mascherano, Piqué, Alba; Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta; Suarez, Neymar, Messi.
