Ahead of the return of the UEFA Champions League this week, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made a surprise admission his club's supporters might not like.
Before the 2019/20 season got under way, the Citizens were tipped as one of the favourites to win the latest edition of the Champions League.
Guardiola, however, feels his team are not ready to challenge for Europe's biggest club prize, despite their recent dominance in the Premier League.
"The people say about the Champions League, that target. We still are not ready," he said, according to GiveMeSport.
"We create a lot, don't concede, but can improve.
"We've scored a lot over the last two seasons and I don't have doubts about that, but we have to keep going, work on that."
Liverpool won the competition last season, breaking Real Madrid's run of three consecutive tournament wins in 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18.
