Lionel Messi Extends UEFA Champions League Record Over Cristiano Ronaldo
FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi finally scored against Chelsea after going 730 minutes without a goal against the Blues. In so doing he extended a UEFA Champions League record over his longstanding rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Argentine finally scored against Chelsea in his ninth game against the Premier League side on Tuesday, canceling out Willian’s opener and giving Barca the away-goal advantage ahead of the second leg.
Overall, it was Messi’s 98th goal in the competition and he is now just two strikes short of becoming the second player to reach 100 goals in the Champions League.
It was also Messi’s 22nd goal at this stage of the competition – more than any other player in history.
The 30-year-old took his own last-16 record to 22 goals, which is three more than Ronaldo, while Thomas Muller follows with 12 strikes in third spot.
