Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres believes that his side can reach the Champions League final yet again.
Atletico Madrid faced Real Madrid in the Champions League final last year, and came within minutes of winning the title - only to concede late on and fall apart in extra-time.
Torres admitted that the club is still hurting after their Champions League loss, but insists that they are determined to make the final again.
"Losing a final is really tough, maybe even more so if it's the Champions League, and definitely even more so because of the way it happened,” he told Marca in an exclusive interview.
“My teammates want to avenge what happened in Lisbon and there's only one way, which is by getting there again.
“People are convinced that we can reach the final once more. That makes you see what the team's mentality is all about."
The Spaniard also touched on his now coach and former teammate Diego Simeone.
"He's very similar to what he was like as a teammate, with very clear ideas and messages,” he added.
“When someone makes a speech, it's very important that he believes it, because he knows it's true and he shows you that, and you see it for yourself.
“He's demanding and he's a winner which is just what a club needs to be able to compete with the giants.”
Torres could make his first Champions League appearance since re-signing with his boyhood club on Wednesday night.
