Ronaldo was sent off just after the 30-minute mark for seemingly pulling Valencia defender Jeison Murillo's hair during an off-the-ball incident.
The sending off will see the 33-year-old miss the Bianconeri's next Champions League clash, against Swiss outfit Young Boys.
However, according to
The Sun, UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings over the forward's sending off on Wednesday evening.
UEFA's disciplinary committee will now have a look at the red card incident, and determine whether or not Ronaldo will receive a three-game ban.
If found guilty by UEFA, he will miss the clash against Young Boys as well both matches against his former club Manchester United.
