Following his hat-trick in Juventus' empathic win over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo equalled a remarkable goalscoring record set by FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
Despite going into the return fixture 2-0 down on aggregate, many were reluctant to write the Italian giants off due to Ronaldo's incredible history in the competition.
The Portuguese duly delivered on the night, scoring a hat-trick, consisting of two headed goals and a penalty, to hand his side a 3-0 victory over Los Rojiblancos and send the Bianconeri through to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
With his three goals on Tuesday night, Ronaldo, 34, has now scored eight hat-tricks in the Champions League, equalling Messi's record.
The forward has hit the back of the net 24 times and assisted a further 12 strikes in 36 matches for the Old Lady so far this season.
