The Blues were once again without striker Romelu Lukaku, as Kai Havertz continued to lead the attack while Ben Chilwell started against his former side.
Chilwell nearly got the perfect start on his return after smashing the crossbar after being played in by Mason Mount inside the opening 10 minutes.
The Blues got their early reward when Chilwelll turned provider as his corner found Antonio Rudiger, who sent a glancing header into the far corner on 14 minutes.
After Leicester's Ademola Lookman had a goal disallowed for offside, the Blues went on to double their lead in the 28th minute courtesy of a fine strike from former Foxes star N'Golo Kante.
Other than the disallowed goal, Bredan Rodgers' charges struggled to mount any serious attempts at the Blues goal in the opening 45 minutes.

Rodgers responded with a double change after the break as James Maddison and Kelechi Iheanacho replaced Harvey Barnes and Lookman for the second half.
Daniel Amartey nearly pulled a goal back for Leicester just after the hour mark but his powerful strike was brilliantly kept out by Edouard Mendy.
However, it was a Chelsea substitute who managed to get the next goal as Christian Pulisic made it 3-0 on 71 minutes after turning home a cross from fellow substitute Hakim Ziyech.
Reece James thought he had bagged the fourth goal with a neat finish in the final five minutes, but the flag went up for an offside on Pulisic in the build-up as the 3-0 scoreline was enough to cement top spot for another week.
