The Swede tested positive for the virus just before the international break but did recover in time to make the famous Milan derby.
The 39-year-old showed no signs of rust after bagging a brace to hand Milan a 2-1 win over Inter Milan at the San Siro on Saturday evening.
Ibrahimovic revealed after the game that he did feel all the symptoms when he contracted the virus recently.
When asked by Sky Sports about his battle wit the virus, he said, "I lost my sense of taste a little, but I didn't have any other symptoms.
"I swabbed myself every three days and I told myself that I would play in the derby whatever the cost, even if I were still positive!
"Better with age? Yes, I feel more complete and the experience helps. If I had the condition of a kid today, no one would stop me."
