After Juventus and Inter Milan's Serie A match did not go ahead behind closed doors as planned, Nerazzurri president Steven Zhang did not hold back in his scathing attack on Serie A chief Paolo Dal Pino.
The Italian top-flight has been rocked by the outbreak of the Coronivarus in the country which has forced a number of matches to be postponed. Inter's clash against Juve was set to be played behind closed doors as a solution to the problem, but a late call by the league to postpone the match altogether left Zhang fuming and he took to Instagram to voice his frustrations.
"You are the biggest clown I have ever seen," the 29-year-old said of Dal Pino, as reported by Gazetta dello Sport.
"What is your next step? 24 hours, 48 hours and 7 days, what else? And you talk about sportsmanship, about a regular championship? What do you say about the fact that we don't protect our players and coaches and ask them to play 24 hours a day and 7 days a week?
"I'm talking to you, our president Lega, shame on you. It's time to get up and take your responsibilities. So we have to do in 2020. It applies to everyone in the world, it doesn't matter if you are an Inter or Juventus fan or you don't support anyone..."
Inter currently sit third in the Serie A standings, six points behind the Bianoneri who have played one more match this season.
