Serie A
Result: Sassuolo 0-3 Juventus
Date: 10 February 2019
Venue: MAPEI Stadium
Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 18th Serie A goal of the season as Juventus registered a 3-0 win away to Sassuolo on Sunday evening.
Sassuolo were hoping to catch Bianconeri on an off-day after Massimiliano Allegri’s charges failed were held to a 3-3 draw by Parma on home soil last weekend.
After applying pressure in the early stages, the Old Lady were rewarded with the opening goal in the 23rd minute thanks to Sami Khedira who reacted the quickest to score from a rebound after goalkeeper goalkeeper Andrea Consigli parried  Ronaldo’s strike into the German's path.
Following a frantic half-an hour, proceedings calm down in the latter stages of the half and chances were hard to come by.
Mario Mandzukic came doubling the lead seven minutes before the break with a header that went just over the bar following a good cross from Ronaldo.
Ronaldo thought he had got on the scoresheet men eight minutes into the second stanza after going through and rounding Consigli, but the celebrations were halted as he was flagged for offside.
Allegri refreshed his side in the 65th minute as goalscorer Khedira made way for Rodrigo Bentancur in a straight swap in the heart of midfield.
Five minutes later, Ronaldo eventually doubled the lead for the visitors with a header from close range to extend his tally to 18 goals in Italy's top flight.
Bianconeri were in control of the match in the closing stages and substitute Emre Can netted a third goal four minutes before time with a clinical finish after some impressive build-up play.
In the end, three goals were enough to secure the win as the visitors extended their lead at the top of the table to 11 points.
