Result: AC Milan 2-0 Lazio
Date: 20 September 2016
Venue: San Siro
Goals from Carlos Bacca and M'Baye Niang earned AC Milan a 2-0 win over Lazio at the San Siro.
Lazio enjoyed a better start to the encounter, but they struggled to threaten the Milan goal in the opening 15 minutes.
It was Milan who broke the deadlock after 37 minutes as Carlos Bacca latched onto a pass from Juraj Kucka, before stroking the ball into the bottom corner.
The home side almost doubled their lead on the stroke of the half time, as Giacomo Bonaventura saw his close range effort cleared off the line.
Lazio opted for a double change at the start of the second half, as Felipe Anderson and Balde Keita were introduced.
Milan squandered a golden chance to double their lead after 56 minutes when Suso picked out M'Baye Niang, who headed wide from point-blank range.
Niang made up for his earlier miss, as the French forward converted a penalty in the 74th minute, after Stefan Radu handled in the box.
Milan managed to see out the remaining stages of the second half with relative ease to claim the win, which sees them rise up to third in the Serie A table.
