A shock report has suggested that, after purchasing Newcastle United last week, the same Saudi Arabian billionaires are looking to buy another top club in Europe.
According to Libero and as cited by Football Italia, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) are in talks with Inter Milan to potentially buy the 2020/21 Serie A champions for about €1 billion (R17 billion).
PIF recently completed the takeover of Premier League side Newcastle, and could now look to make yet another massive investment in football.
It is claimed that Nerazzurri ownership group Suning and PIF began negotiations last year, but the talks were suspended in April following the announcement of the failed European Super League.
It is suggested that the Zhang family, who own Suning, are tempted to accept the offer given their current economic struggles, which forced the club to sell the likes of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku in the latest transfer window.
However, sources close to Inter are said to have denied that a takeover is around the corner.
