Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos has revealed which one of his former coaches did not know a lot about the beautiful game.

City Ready To Make R6.4bn Messi Move?

The ex-Brazil international played under England manager Roy Hodgson at Inter for one season, and has admitted that the boss almost ruined his career, as he did not have the greatest football knowledge.

"Hodgson's stint at Inter destroyed me," he told

"He put me in midfield and I believed it was something that could have ruined my career with Brazil.

"It's not to say I didn't have a good relationship with him, but he didn't know much about football.

"When Inter lost the UEFA Cup final against Schalke in 1996, it was solely Hodgson's fault."

Carlos represented Inter 34 times in his single campaign, before moving to Spanish giants Los Blancos, who he played 523 games for.
