Reports: £95m Offered For African Star
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that the Serie A giants have received an offer of £95 million for one of their African stars, who has been heavily linked with Manchester United of late.
Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly has been linked with the Red Devils over the past few months as the Premier League side continues to struggle in defence.
The Italian club's president De Laurentiis has now claimed that they received a large bid for the defender, but did not disclose which club made the offer.
"We are more than capable of developing top players and keeping them too," he said, according to FourFourTwo.
"When they offer £95m for a centre-back, that is a figure that has never been offered before. It means this is a top player."
Koulibaly was recently shortlisted for the BBC African Player of the Year award, but lost out to Liverpool and Egypt attacker Mohamed Salah.
