A Juventus midfielder heaped praise on former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming that nobody in world football can reach his level.
The Portuguese superstar completed his switch from Spain to Italy in July 2018, penning a four-year contract with the Serie A giants said to be worth €100 million (R1.59 billion), with an additional €12 million (R191 million) being allocated for add-ons.
After a slow start, Ronaldo has been showing some of his best form in Turin, most recently netting his 19th goal in his 24th league appearance to extend Bianconeri's lead at the summit of the league standings.
Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, who plays alongside the Portuguese superstar at Juve, has explained his thoughts on the widespread admiration for the 34-year-old, in addition to claiming that Ronaldo is the best player in the world.
"Here is Cristiano Ronaldo, the biggest player in the world, but in the locker room he is the same as the others and behaves naturally," the Germany star was quoted as saying by Calciomercato.
"Everyone asks me, and not only in interviews. Even at home, my family and friends always ask me about Cristiano, he is a crazy football player. You realise when he plays, for what he feels on the pitch, for the goals he scores, for the way he thinks, the actions: I think nobody can reach him.
"And then there is his attitude out of the field: good boy, not at all presumptuous, but rather extremely humble. Cristiano raises the level. Chiellini explained to me that the fans waiting for us in front of the away hotels have multiplied. He is an icon, not just a player."
Ronaldo has now scored and assisted at least once in his past three consecutive Serie A games, a feat he last achieved with Los Blancos in 2014.
