The Bianconeri face a tough test in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, when they will need to overcome Ajax Amsterdam, who knocked out defending champions Real Madrid in the previous round, in the second leg of their quarter-final.
Whether or not they go through to the semi-finals, and despite being on track to lift their eighth successive Serie A title, reports in Italy suggest that Juve are in for a squad overall at the end of the season, with several big-name stars being linked with the club.
Paul Pogba headlines the reported targets, according to Tuttosport, with his agent Mino Raiola apparently set to meet the club's chiefs for talks. The Frenchman rejoined Manchester United from the Italian club in a £89 million (R1.63 billion) deal in 2016, but it has been claimed his relationship with many at United has soured and that he could be keen to leave.
Another player on the Old Lady's reported wish list is Joao Felix, who has been dubbed the "next Ronaldo". The Benfica wonderkid is experiencing a breathtaking breakthrough season, scoring 16 goals and assisting another nine strikes in all competitions so far. However, Juve will have to fend off interest from United, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and other European giants to secure the 19-year-old's services.
Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt is said to have been targeted to improve the club's defence, while FC Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic – as an apparent Plan B if Pogba cannot be lured back – and Bayern Munich's James Rodriguez have also been linked with the Italian giants, who have already secured the services of Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, Paulo Dybala, who has scored just five Serie A goals this season, has seemingly fallen down the club's pecking order and could be sold while he can still attract a massive transfer fee.
Other players who have been linked with Juve exits are winger Douglas Costa, injury-prone midfielder Sami Khedira, and Gonzalo Higuain, who is likely to return from his Chelsea loan. In addition, defensive stalwart Andrea Barzagli has confirmed he will retire from the game at the end of the campaign.
