Date: 18 January 2015
Venue: Juventus Stadium
A brace from Carlos Tevez helped Juventus thrash Hellas Verona 4-0 in an Italian Serie A match at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday night.
It was the perfect start for the home side as they registered two goals in the first seven minutes.
In the third minute Paul Pogba gave Juventus the lead after a right footed shot from outside the box found the bottom right corner, 1-0.
Four minutes later Carlos Tevez doubled the home side’s lead when he expertly turned home a low cross from 14-yards out, 2-0.
On the half hour mark Patrice Evra should have made it three for Juventus but he headed over from close range after meeting a pin-point cross from Andrea Pirlo.
Eight minutes later Pogba failed to take another chance which was created by Pirlo again as he too headed off target from an accurate cross.
The half ended 2-0 in favour of the home side.
Verona came out the better side in the second half and created the first decent chance on goal in the 61st minute Lazaros Christodoulopoulos’ shot from just outside the box was superbly save dby the keeper.
Sic minutes later Juventus put the result beyond doubt when Roberto Pereyra scored their third goal after turning home a pass from Giorgio Chiellini, 3-0.
The icing on the cake was Tevez’s second goal in the 74th minute when his right footed shot from a difficult angle on the right found the back of the net, 4-0.
Juventus took their foot off the pedal after that as they maintained their five point lead at the top of the Serie A table.
