Serie A
Full Time: Bologna 0-1 Internazionale
Date: 27 October 2015
Venue: Stadio Renato Dall'Ara
A goal from Mauro Icardi saw a ten man Internazionale beat Bologna 1-0 in an Italian Serie A match at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara on Tuesday night.
The win sees Inter go top of the league table with 21 points from ten games, one point clear of second place AS Roma who have only played nine Serie A games.
The loss for Bologna sees them into the relegation zone in 18th place with six points from ten games, only one place ahead of 19th placed Verona and 20th placed Carpi who have both only played nine games.
It was a rather dull half characterised with some well-organised defending from both sides which resulted in chances on goal being few and far in-between.
The first decent effort on goal came in the 17th minute when Luca Rizzo met a cross into the box, but the Bologna attacker headed wide of the Inter goal.
On the half hour mark Inter had a great chance to open the scoring when Ivan Perisic met a free-kick cross into the box, but under no pressure he headed inches wide of the target.
The half ended 0-0.
The second half produced a bit more action and saw Felipe Melo sent for an early shower on the hour mark after receiving his second yellow card in the space of seven minutes.
Nonetheless, despite being reduced to ten men Inter took the lead in the 67th minute after a precise pass from Adem Ljajić was turned home by Mauro Icardi from a couple of yards out, 1-0.
Inter spent the rest of the game defending as Bologna threw players forward in attack, but they could not breach the defence and suffered their eighth loss of the league season.
