Real Madrid Transfer Plans: €300m From 11-Man Axe List?

With Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane looking to free up space for new signings, here are 11 players the club are reportedly looking to sell in order to gain a whopping €300 million in transfer funds.

Los Blancos are said to be preparing for one of their biggest transfer windows in history, and new arrivals could easily cost more than €400 million (R6.6 billion), Marca have reported. However, in order to splash the cash for a squad facelift, Real need to make some room on their roster and on the club's wage bill.

Marca believe Gareth Bale, Isco and James Rodriguez are the three big names who are not in Zidane's planes for the future.

Bale is understood to be the club's biggest headache as the Welshman is not prepared to leave his massive salary of €17 million (R280 million) per season. Zidane has reportedly made it clear to Bale he is not wanted or needed, despite scoring two goals in last year's UEFA Champions League final while also netting in the 2014 final and converting a penalty in the 2016 triumph.

Isco and Rodriguez are in a similar situation, with both players believed to not be in the Frenchman's ideas for the future. Isco, though, wants to stay and regain his place in Zidane's starting XI. The coach, however, wishes to move him on and Real are hoping to generate about €60 million (R989 million) from his sale.

Rodriguez, meanwhile, will reportedly return from his two-year loan at Bayern Munich, who are believed to not be keen on activating their purchase option on the player. With the Colombian not in Zidane’s plans, Los Blancos are asking for about €70 million (R1.15 billion) for his services.

Chelsea loanee Mateo Kovacic will reportedly sign for the Blues in a €35 million (R577 million) transfer, as per the agreement in his loan contract. With Bale expected to be sold for €70 million or more, the four abovementioned players alone would generate an income of €235 million (R3.87 billion).

There are several other Real stars on the coach's axe list, according to Marca – you find all of them in the gallery above!
