Much has been written about the potential arrivals at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Paul Pogba, Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappe all being linked with the club.
In reality, though, Los Blancos first need get some players out of the door before they can bring in the additions they want. According to Marca, there are up to 14 players who are not in Zinedine Zidane's plans for the future.
The Frenchman has reportedly started to inform his players in face-to-face talks about their future at the club, and the likes of Bale, Keylor Navas, Marcos Llorente and Dani Ceballos were apparently the first to be told they have no future at the club.
Bale's offloading will seemingly be the most tricky, with the Welshman not keen on losing his whopping salary in Madrid. However, Zidane has axed him from his past two matchday squads, apparently sending a message to the club's most expensive signing ever that he is not in his future plans.
In addition, James Rodriguez, who has been on loan at Bayern Munich for the past two seasons, also has no role to play in the Frenchman's plans should the German giants not activate their purchase option on the player.
Another star who is believed to be without a future at the Bernabeu is Mariano Diaz. The 25-year-old came through the club's youth ranks and was sold by Zidane in 2017, before returning after Ronaldo left ahead of the current campaign. He even received the iconic No. 7 previously worn by the club's all-time record goalscorer, but has only scored four goals so far this season.
Zidane might swing his axe over Mariano a second time, but the striker is only one of a number of stars whose time at the club could be up – you can find all of them in the gallery above!
