After Zinedine Zidane claimed he has been "in love with Kylian Mbappe for a long time", someone close to the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has claimed he will join Real Madrid.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker has been linked with the Spanish giants ever since his breakthrough three years ago, with many seeing him as the most natural successor to Los Blancos record goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the Madrid club last year.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev believes it is a foregone conclusion that Mbappe will join the LaLiga side in the near future.
"Kylian will join Real Madrid. I do not know when, but it seems inevitable," he told Le Parisien.
"The club is very important in his life. Madrid had a more interesting offer than PSG in 2017 but he told me that he thought it was too early to leave France, and Paris was his home.
"He wanted to become a great player in France as he would have plenty of time and that showed Kylian's intelligence – he is now the best player in France and PSG have enough finances to keep him."
Since joining PSG in 2017, Mbappe has scored 70 goals and assisted a further 36 strikes in 100 matches across all competitions.
