Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has reportedly apologised to Vinicius Junior after his scathing remarks about the Brazilian winger during Los Blancos' UEFA Champions League match earlier this week.
On Tuesday night, with Real 2-0 down at half-time, cameras caught Benzema telling Ferland Mendy not to pass the ball to Vinicius Junior, saying: "Don't play with him. On my mother's life, he is playing against us."
The Frenchman's comments did the rounds on social media the next day after the Spanish giants had fought back to draw 2-2 away at Borussia Monchengladbach.
According to Marca, Benzema was said to be quick to apologise to Vinicius Junior for his scathing remarks at the club’s training ground, with the pair now seemingly on friendly terms again.
It is claimed Mendy went on to pass the ball to the Brazilian starlet just three times in the second half, despite the two players playing on the left side of the pitch together.
Although the incident is seemingly in the past, it does suggest that the mood in the Real camp is not great at the moment, with the club won just one of their past four matches across all competitions.
