Reports: Griezmann Annoyed With Barca Stars
In 2003, England's former No. 7 made a big-money move to the capital of Spain, where he teamed up with the likes of Ronaldo Nazario, Zinedine Zidane and Raul Gonzalez.
None of the above, however, had the best grasp of the English language, and Michel Salgado was one of the few players Beckham could communicate with.
The ex-Los Blancos right-back revealed recently that he felt he had to look after Beckham for this very reason, saying that sometimes his partner would get annoyed that he and the former United star were always on the go.
"I was the one to babysit David Beckham," Salgado said on the League of Legends show, according to Daily Star.
"I did it a lot. It's because I was the only Real Madrid player to speak English. But it was great with Beckham.
"He was alone in Madrid because his wife was travelling a lot, living in LA and England. So he would call me every day, saying 'let's go out'.
"And my wife was really p***ed off with the situation – but it was a great time."
