The Reds are said to be likely to dip into the transfer market in January in a bid to find more defensive options following the serious injury suffered by their Dutch centre-back, who could reportedly miss the rest of the campaign.
It has been reported that David Alaba is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, with the club recently revealing they have retracted their latest contract offer for the player.
Liverpool have been linked with the Austrian defender as a result, but according to Italian publication Calciomercato, the player has been offered to Real Madrid.
They are not the only interested parties mentioned, though, with both Inter Milan and Juventus also said to be keeping an eye on the 28-year-old.

Bayern are not keen to let the player go in the middle of the season, but with a number of clubs interested, it would prove more profitable to listen to offers before he becomes available for free.
