Things have not been easy for Zidane since his return to Los Blancos' helm in March, and in a bid to turn fortunes around ahead of next season, changes to the team will need to be made.
Like Arsene Wenger did at Arsenal, Real's manager has been linked with a number of his compatriots, perhaps because he knows what he can expect from them.
Zidane is known to be a huge Paul Pogba fan, with certain reports suggesting the Manchester United superstar is close to joining the 13-time European champions. While Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer perhaps struggled to get consistency from the player, Zidane might feel it is something he could achieve.
The 46-year-old is also a huge admirer of Kylian Mbappe, although it appears a move for the Paris Saint-Germain forward will be a difficult one as things stand.
Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, 22, has also been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital, as has his club and international colleague Ferland Mendy. Zidane is reportedly chasing both players ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, although L'Equipe have reported that Real have had a bid for Mendy rejected.
Players Who Were Forced To Retire Early
The fifth Frenchman Zidane would apparently love at Los Blancos is Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, although it seems unlikely he would join the Spanish giants in the same transfer window as Eden Hazard, who is reportedly close to putting pen to paper on a deal with the LaLiga club.
