It was not the best Boxing Day in England for South Africans as Dean Furman and Kgosietsile Ntlhe found themselves punch drunk at the end of their defeats.
Furman played in the heart of midfield, but was unable to prevent his side, Doncaster Rovers, from losing 3-0 to Ipswitch Town.
Ntlhe suffered the same fate as Peterborough United lost 4-2 to Coventry City. United took the lead twice, but ended up losing the match which saw them drop to fifth on the league table.
Tokelo Rantie was the only winner on the day in England as AFC Bournemouth beat Yeovil Town 3-0. Rantie came on in the 74th minute, but was unable to add to the scoreline. The result saw Bournemouth up to 15th place on the table/
In Belgium, it was a merry Boxing Day for Ayanda Patosi who played the fill 90 minutes in Lokeren’s 3-0 win over KV Oostende which took his side to sixth in the league table.
Anele Ngcongca was on the end of a hiding in the Belgium Pro League as Genk were beaten 3-0 by Sporting Charleroi on Boxing Day. Ngcongca played the full 90 minutes, but was unable to prevent his side from losing their eighth game of the season. The result leaves Genk in sixth place on the table.
