Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly climbed up to second spot in the Egyptian Premier League standing after a last-gasp 2-1 victory over El Gaish on Sunday evening.
Mosimane made five changes to the side that lost to Simba in the CAF Champions League, as he recalled Ayman Ashraf, Amr El Soulia, Hussein El Shahat, Mohamed Magdi Kafsha and Mohamed Sherif.
The Red Devils fell behind after a sluggish start when Ahmed Samir broke the deadlock for El Gaish in the 26th minute with a free-kick that found the top corner.
It did not take long for the Red Devils to respond though, as Junior Ajayi levelled matters in the 32nd minute with a close-range from Kafsha.

Al Ahly shot-stopper Mohamed El Shenawy ensured the sides went into the break level pegging after keeping out a header from Ahmed Alaa just before the break.
The game was tight for the better part of the second stanza as second-half substitute Kahraba got close to snatching the winner in the last 12 minutes with a strike inside the box that was saved by goalkeeper Mohamed Bassam.
With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Ajayi got the clinching goal for Mosimane's men in stoppage time with a strike from close range to complete his brace.
Mosimane's charges went up to second on the log, five points behind leaders Zamalek with two games in hand of their title rivals.
