Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo seems to believe he has done enough to beat Lionel Messi to this year's Ballon d'Or after singing a Ballon d'Or chant during his side's UEFA Champions League celebrations.
The Portuguese netted a brace in the UCL final on Saturday, helping Los Blancos beat Juventus 4-1 to get their hands on the trophy a 12th time.
With his two goals, he also overtook Messi in the Champions League Golden Boot race, beating the Argentine with his 12 strikes to the Albiceleste captain's 11.
It was Ronaldo's fourth Champions League title, as many as Messi, but the Portuguese actually played in all his finals, while the Argentine was not part of the matchday squad of his first triumph in 2006.
Widespread reports suggest that the Portugal captain is now the favourite to lift the 2017 Ballon d'Or award, which would see him equal Messi's tally, and during his club's UCL celebrations at the Santiago Bernabeu, he could not resist singing a Ballon d'Or chant.
The 32-year-old grabbed a microphone and made a speech to thank the fans, but the Los Blancos faithful interrupted him and starting chanting "Cristiano, Ballon d'Or", as reported by the Daily Star.
Ronaldo then echoed the fans' chanting before his teammates also joined in.
It was a great end to the 2016/17 season for the Portuguese, who netted 16 goals in his last 10 games in all competitions, while his second goal in the final against Juventus was also the 600th of his senior career.
