Towards the end of July, Liverpool and Sporting CP played out a 2-2 draw in a pre-season friendly, and Klopp was seen chatting with the Portuguese midfielder after the match.

Klopp's praise seems innocent enough, but speculation persists that the former Sampdoria playmaker could be on the move.
Fernandes caught the attention of a number of Europe's top clubs after scoring 32 goals for Sporting last season, the most ever by a Portuguese midfielder in a single season.
The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool's rivals Manchester United, although the Reds have also been credited with an interest in the Portuguese international.
