Mauricio Pochettino has compared the popularity of one of his Tottenham Hotspur stars to former Manchester United and Real Madrid legend David Beckham.
Spurs are currently taking part in a pre-season tour of Asia, where the club is competing in the annual International Champions Cup.
Pochettino's side recently recorded a 3-2 win over Serie A giants Juventus, and will take on Premier League rivals Manchester United in Shanghai in their next friendly fixture.
Ahead of that clash, the Argentine manager compared the popularity Son Heung-min enjoys in Asia to that of former Red Devils legend David Beckham.
"We can appreciate and see how the people love Sonny here in Asia," Pochettino said, as per The Telegraph.
"Of course, he's an icon. I compared him before to David Beckham in popularity. It doesn't surprise me but it's good to see how the people love him and how important he is for the people.
"I am happy to hear him telling you that he still wants to improve, be better and work hard. That mentality is fantastic and that is why he is a very good example for all the fans and all the people, not only here in Asia but in the world."
Son was named in the Spurs' starting line-up against Juventus, and is expected to feature again against United.
The 27-year old has been a key figure for the Lilywhites since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, and has scored 67 goals in 188 appearances for the club.
