Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, has wished Mario Balotelli well but refused to be drawn into any further comments about the Italy striker’s imminent transfer to Liverpool.

Mourinho worked with Balotelli  at Inter Milan before the forward moved to Manchester City and the Portuguese naturally was asked about the polarizing striker.

“I don’t speak about players from other clubs,” he said in his pre-match press conference for the home game against Leicester.

“He is a Milan player signing for Liverpool, or already a Liverpool player.

“The only thing I say is that I wish my former players the best and with Mario it’s no different.”

The Blues boss insisted the game against Leicester will be difficult and Chelsea need to be at their best to beat the newly promoted side.

“This is the sixth Premier League season I start,” he added.

“I don’t think I have a lot to learn from the fact that every match is difficult and every opponent is difficult.

“The results in the first weekend of matches were draws, 1-0 wins, 2-1 wins with just ours and the Man City match with a two-goal difference in the result.

“Everything was very tight, everything was very difficult for everyone and if we play at the top of our game like we did at Burnley, not for 90 minutes but we did for some good periods of the game, we have a chance to win. If you don’t, you are in trouble.”

Chelsea will host Leicester at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
