Mexico 2-0 Argentina
Argentina suffered a defeat in their opening game of the U17 World Cup as Mexico controlled proceedings for the 90 minutes, winning 2-0.
Mexico scored as early as the 10th minute through Kevin Magana, and Francisco Venegas hit the back of the net from the spot in the 77th minute.
Honduras 1-3 Ecuador
Ecuador eased past Honduras in their first game of the tournament, winning 3-1 at the Estadio Fiscal de Talca.
The Ecuadoreans were two goals up by half-time thanks to Yeison Guerrero and Pervis Estupinan, and made it three in the 75th minute through Joan Cortez, with Foslyn Grant's strike for Honduras proving to be nothing more than a consolation.
