Brazil star Neymar says he is ready for the pressures of the home World Cup, but talked down comparisons between him and Selecao legend, Pele.
After rising to international stardom from the youth ranks at Santos, comparisons have been drawn between Neymar and Pele, who played over 600 games for the Brazil club.
But while Pele has won three World Cups with Brazil, Neymar is still targeting his first triumph on the world stage.
"For me it is a pleasure to be compared to a great player like Pele," he told the Wall Street Journal.
"But he is the king of football. I am just a boy who wants to play football."
However, the Brazil and Barcelona forward has declared himself ready to handle the pressures of the World Cup in his home country.
"We suffer pressure in all the things we do," he added.
"I suffer pressure since I decided to become a player, but it's a pleasure to play a World Cup in my country to my people.
"Football is in the soul of the Brazilian people."
Brazil will face Mexico, Cameroon and Croatia in Group A.
